ALGIERS - The "AL24 News" channel won the Best Television Report Award of the "Media Awards 2026," held during the 17th General Assembly of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) in Banjul, Gambia.
The award, announced at the closing of the General Assembly, recognized a report by journalist Asma Laid titled: "Algeria, a Leading Academic Destination for African Students."
In other categories, Algerian Radio was honored in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) category for its report: "When AI Breathes New Life into African Heritage."
Additionally, Algerian Television received an award for its report: "African Youth: A Shared Identity and a Shared Future."
This success coincides with the 20th anniversary of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), a milestone that underscores Algeria’s significant presence and influence within the African media landscape.
