Italy's tax burden hit an 11-year high in 2025, Istat said Friday.
Istat's raw data indicate that it reached 43.1% of GDP, up 0.7 percentage points from 42.4% in 2024.
To find a higher level, one must go back to 2014, when it was 43.1%.
The fourth-quarter figure (51.4%) also represents a peak not seen since the same period of that year (when it reached 52.2%).
