Italy's world number two Jannik Sinner said he surprised himself after beating Czech Jiri Lehecka 6-4, 6-4 in the final of the Miami Open on Sunday to become the first man to complete the 'Sunshine Double', by winning the tournament and the Indian Wells Masters back-to-back in the same season, since Roger Federer in 2017.
"It means a lot to me - the Sunshine Double for the first time, it's incredible," Sinner said.
"It's something I never would've thought (I would do) because it's difficult to achieve.
"We made it somehow, so I'm very happy".
The 24-year-old is also the first man ever to pull off the Sunshine Double without dropping a set in either tournament.
And he has extended his record for the the number of consecutive sets won at the Masters 1000 level to 34 after surpassing Novak Djokovic's previous record of 24 while in Miami.
The consecutive-sets run dates back to the start of last year's Paris Masters.
