ANSA - Milano Cortina: Meloni pays tribute after record-breaking Winter Paralympics

Italy ends Games with 16 medals, including seven golds

Premier Giorgia Meloni paid tribute after Italy ended the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics on Sunday with a record haul of 16 medals - seven golds, seven silvers and two bronzes.
    "Thank you to all our National Paralympic Team athletes for the emotions and the extraordinary results that you have gifted to Italy," Meloni said via X "With your talent, your determination, and your example, you have made the entire Nation proud".
    Italy's stars of the Games included visually impaired Alpine skiers Chiara Mazzel, who won four medals, including gold in the Super-G, and Giacomo Bertagnolli, who claimed five, including golds in the super combined and the slalom.
    Para snowboarder Emanuel Perathoner also won two golds.
