ALGIERS - The National Agency for the Valorisation of Hydrocarbon Resources (Alnaft) and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) will organize from 11 to 13 May, in Algiers, an international meeting comprising two workshops devoted to the offshore hydrocarbon exploitation and the recovery of mature fields, Alnaft said.
According to the agency's website, the two technical workshops will gather energy sector experts and professionals around these two strategic themes.
The first workshop will centre on unlocking the hydrocarbon potential of Algeria's frontier basin in the Western Mediterranean.
This workshop will be devoted to the exploration in deep and ultra-deep zones of the Algerian offshore, with a focus on assessing the geological potential of still largely unexplored offshore areas, the innovations in the acquisition and interpretation of geophysical data, as well as new investment and cooperation perspectives in offshore exploration.
The second workshop will tackle innovative solutions for improving recovery from mature fields and tight reservoirs, notably advanced recovery optimization methods, the management of heterogeneous and fractured reservoirs, and tapping into the potential of Cambro-Ordovician tight sands alongside Cenomanian-Turonian and Liassic carbonate formations.
This event is meant to be "a platform for exchange between local and international experts," designed to promote knowledge-sharing, innovation and cooperation in the development of Algeria's energy sector, said Alnaft.
