NNA - The European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Sandra De Waele, conveyed to the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, the European Union's position on the current developments.
Following the meeting, Ambassador De Waele expressed regret over the "loss of innocent Lebanese lives" and welcomed "the decisions taken by the government on Monday, which align with the EU's long-standing approach toward Hezbollah, whereby the EU bans its military wing and distinguishes between its sanctioned military wing and its political wing."
Da Waele reiterated the "EU's calls to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to de-escalate regional tensions."
The EU Ambassador also listened to the requests of the Lebanese presidency and reaffirmed the EU's continued support for Lebanon.
