TIRANA, Feb 7 /ATA/ Over 20,000 domestic and foreign visitors toured cultural sites in Albania during January 2026, highlighting strong interest in the country’s cultural heritage.
Data released by the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, indicate that this month saw 11,315 visitors to national museums, 6,012 to archaeological parks, and 2,693 to castles and cultural monuments.
Regarding the five most visited sites, according to data published by Gonxhja, the National Museum “Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu” in Krujë leads with 4,948 visitors, followed by the Shkodër Archaeological Park with 3,475 visitors and the Gjirokastër Castle with 2,167 visitors.
Meanwhile, the Onufri Iconographic Museum in Berat welcomed 1,604 visitors, while the Butrint Archaeological Park welcomed 1,100 visitors during the month of January.
