ZAGREB, 6 Feb (Hina) - Female members of the Croatian Parliament wore red outfits on Friday to mark the international "Red Dress Day", a public health campaign raising awareness of stroke in women and highlighting risks linked to ignoring symptoms and unhealthy lifestyles.
"It is nice to see female MPs united in promoting women's health and care for it," Deputy Speaker Ivan Penava said.
"Red Dress Day" is marked on the first Friday in February to highlight stroke risks specific to women and the severe consequences of neglecting warning signs, as well as the need for lifestyle changes.
The first campaign, "Go Red for Women", was launched in the United States and has since become an international initiative dedicated to preventing, diagnosing and controlling cardiovascular diseases affecting women's heart and brain blood vessels.
The campaign's symbol is a red dress, representing women, with red symbolising health, life, vitality and warning.
