NNA - Board of Trustees of the Lebanon Sport Hall of Fame Prominent names reflect the credibility of the association's work

NNA - The Sport Hall of Fame announced the names of the members of its first Board of Trustees after its establishment, which includes a select group of well-known names in various fields. 

 

On this occasion, the association's president, Raed Gerges, welcomed the members and thanked them for their cooperation and efforts to ensure the success of the association. He said that their active contribution to immortalizing the distinguished sporting achievements in Lebanon's history will be a very distinguished achievement. The Board of Trustees includes (in alphabetical order): Asya Abdullah, Joseph Abi Chahine, Dr. Iman Aleywan, Nizar Al-Zein, Roda Antar, Sejaan Arej Saade, Gelnar Atoui, Salim Awada, Janet Ayoub, Georges Barakat, Tony Baroud, Nazih Bawji, Dr. Tarek Charaf, Princess Claire Chehab, Jad Chouman, Karim Fares, Mohammad Fawaz, Mohammad Finj, Dr. Sami A. Garabadian, 

 

Abdo Gedeon, Fouad Gerges, Jirayr Habibian, Antoine Hachem, Dr. Jihad Haddad, Selim Hajj-Nicolas, Chebl Harmouche, Sossy Ingirkochian, Tony Jreij, Rainier Jreissati, Ahmad kamareddine, Tony Khalil, Dr. Alfred Khoury, Georges Kopali, Dr. Rajaa Labaki, Zeina Mina, Abdo Nader, Shada Nasr, Dr. Nadim Nassif, Hady Nassif, Wael Noureddine, Jo Otayek, Ziad Richa, Bahi Rifai, Dr. Joseph Rizkallah, Elie Saade, Ali Safa, and Liliane Tannoury.

 

About the newly formed board of trustees, Raed Gerges said: "The members represent multiple generations that have witnessed different sporting eras in Lebanon. The Board also includes international players who have represented Lebanon in various sports, former presidents of federations and clubs, coaches, academics, administrators, prominent media figures, and active contributors to the sporting community, as well as social, cultural, and legal figures familiar with sports who can make a qualitative contribution to the work of the Board or the administrative committee when necessary." 

 

Gerges added that the founding committee entrusted the board of trustees with the most important authority in the association's work, which is to select the names of individuals, clubs, and teams to be immortalized in the Sports Hall of Fame through a voting process. 

 

 In a related context, the founding members, who in addition to Gerges include Saeed Ghabris, Ghayath Dibra, Wadih Abdelnour, Jalal Al-Beaino, Ali Khalife, and Ibrahim El-Dassouki, defined the association's vision and mission as follows:

The association works to make outstanding sporting achievements part of our national memory and a motivating factor for future generations to participate in sports and achieve the highest ranks. 

 

The mission

The Sport Hall of Fame Association (as stated in the license, circular 987) seeks to showcase the most important sporting achievements in Lebanon at the individual and team levels through: 


 

● Immortalizing the most prominent champions, managers, clubs, and national teams who have contributed to the advancement of sports in Lebanon. 

● Selecting a group of names, clubs, and national teams to be inducted in the Sports Hall of Fame to immortalize their memory.

● Promoting sports culture and instilling a spirit of national belonging.

● Creating a hall that will become an attraction for all athletes, Lebanese citizens, and neighboring countries.

● Organizing periodic celebrations to honor those who have been immortalized and inducted into the Sport Hall of Fame.
