TIRANA, Feb 4 /ATA/ – A group of eight French companies operating in the railway sector visited Albania on Tuesday to explore investment opportunities in the country’s rail infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by France’s ambassador to Albania, Catherine Suard, who highlighted the strong bilateral ties between the two countries and the potential for further cooperation in railway infrastructure.
Deputy Infrastructure and Energy Minister Edona Bilali underscored France’s expertise in the sector and Albania’s willingness to deepen cooperation and exchange best practices.
At a workshop organised by Albania’s investment agency AIDA, participants discussed opportunities for cooperation and experience-sharing between Albania and France, as well as key railway projects under development, including the Tirana–Durres line and the Adriatic-Ionian corridor.
The workshop also explored ways to strengthen partnerships and advance regional projects, including cooperation with Montenegro and Kosovo.
Albania is seeking to increase investment and modernise its rail transport sector, with a focus on projects aimed at improving regional connectivity and domestic infrastructure.
