NNA - HEAD: Antonine University hosts educational session on beekeeping, sustainability

NNA - In a concerted effort to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the collaboration between the Human Environmental Association for Development (HEAD), the UA’s Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism (MOT), the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED), and the Green Party of Lebanon (GPL) bore fruit with an enlightening session titled "The Whole Story Behind Honey." Held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Antonine University in Baabda, the event drew a distinguished group of students eager to delve into the intricacies of sustainable beekeeping.

Aligned with SDG Goal 13 on Climate Action and Goal 15 on Life on Land, the session provided an immersive exploration into the world of beekeeping, from the process of honey production to the environmental impact. Attendees actively participated in lively discussions and posed insightful inquiries about beekeeping practices and honey extraction techniques.

Led by Dr. Dani Obaid, Chairman of the Climate Change Committee in the Association, the session showcased various types of Lebanese honey, offering participants a firsthand experience of its diverse flavors and health benefits. This annual initiative underscores the ongoing commitment of Antonine University and the association to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Throughout the year, the Human Environmental Association for Development collaborates closely with Antonine University to organize a range of activities and events aimed at fostering cultural, environmental, and social bonds among students, faculty, and staff.
