Lusa - Business News - Portugal: ExpoDubai participation shows modern country open to the world

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Jan. 13, 2022 (Lusa) - The Portuguese secretary of state for foreign affairs and cooperation said on Thursday that Portugal's participation in Expo Dubai reflects a "modern country open to the world" and that relations with the Emirates are strengthened by this exhibition.
"I evaluate [Portugal's participation] in a very positive way. Our pavilion reflects the image of a modern country open to the world. This is my assessment and that I have heard from those responsible for the exhibition and from other countries," Francisco André told Lusa on the sidelines of the 'Portugal Business Briefing' in Dubai.
For the government official, relations with the Emirates, which he classified as one of the most attractive markets, will be strengthened with this exhibition, also noting that Portugal has done "a great job" to attract foreign investment.
With regard to sustainability, a key theme of this edition, he noted that Portugal treats this area with "great attention," stressing that the pavilion itself reflects this importance.
Expo Dubai, the first world exhibition to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, is attended by 192 countries.
