Lusa - Business News - Macau: 12th investment, infrastructure construction forum has 1,300+ participants

Macau, China, July 20, 2021 (Lusa) - More than 1,300 representatives of about 500 entities from 42 countries and regions will participate, on Thursday and Friday, in the 12th International Forum on Investment and Infrastructure Construction, it was announced on Tuesday.
Through 'online' and 'offline' acitivities, this edition will focus on thematic forums ranging from financial innovation and cooperation of industrial chains, to joint promotion of China's 'One Belt, One Road' initiative and the contribution of carbon neutrality to the sustainable development of green infrastructure.
Under the theme "Joint Promotion of New Development of International Infrastructure Cooperation," this edition will provide "a platform for exchange and in-depth contacts for relevant participants from government, industry and academic and research spheres from mainland China, Macau and the countries covered by the 'Belt and Road' initiative, with a view to promoting international cooperation between the different sectors," the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said in a statement.
Among the registered participants were "34 diplomats from foreign countries residing in China, representatives of 25 financial institutions and 64 contractors ranked in the world's top 250 and delegations of 72 companies ranked in the world's top 500," it added.
According to the president of IPIM, Lau Wai Meng, the 12th International Forum on Investment and Construction will launch, on the first day, the Infrastructure Development Index of the Countries Covered by the Belt and Road Initiative (2021) and respective report to continue analysing the different realities in Portuguese-language countries, the future and new investment opportunities for cooperative development of infrastructure between them and China, "also contributing to joint exploration of the market in these countries by companies from mainland China and Macau.
The forum is co-organised by IPIM and the China International Civil Constructors Association.
