MAP - Competition Council to Have Access to News Coverage of MAP SERVICES

Rabat - February 27,2020 - (MAP) -The Competition Council and the Moroccan News Agency (MAP) signed, on Wednesday in Rabat, an agreement that will give the Council access to news coverage of MAP SERVICES, a tailor-made service provided by MAP to its premium customers.

Thanks to this agreement, signed by chairman of the Competition Council, Driss Guerraoui, and MAP director general, Khalil Hachimi Idrissi, the Agency will provide the Council with the human and material resources necessary for the coverage of its events in accordance with professional rules.
A dedicated team will accompany the Council during the coverage of its events and provide it with a deliverable for each of the events covered.
In a statement to MAP at the end of the signing ceremony, Guerraoui noted that this agreement, inked with MAP, is of "major" importance for the Council, since it allows it to better interact with national public opinion and its various interlocutors, through the modes of communication offered by the Agency.
The Council will also be able to take advantage of the advances made by MAP in the field of new information and communication technologies to better respond to its primary vocation of raising awareness, while at the same time creating links with national public opinion, he added.
For his part, Hachimi Idrissi said that communication is a fundamental element in promoting the influence of a constitutional institution, stressing that for the sake of information and awareness-raising, it is necessary for the Council to communicate on its achievements, opinions and recommendations.
With this agreement, the Council has equipped itself with a powerful tool to re-establish a certain balance and to act through all the channels of modern communication by defending its positions and putting forward the merits of its decisions, stressed MAP director general.
The Competition Council is an independent institution responsible, within the framework of the organization of free and fair competition, for ensuring transparency and fairness in economic relations, in particular through the analysis and regulation of competition on the markets, as well as the control of anti-competitive practices, unfair commercial practices and economic concentration and monopoly operations.
