MAP - IT Security: Morocco's Data Protect and Libya's Trans-Sahara IT Ink Partnership Draft Agreement

Rabat - November 13, 2019 - (MAP) -Morocco's Data Protect and Libyan company Trans-Sahara IT & Communication signed, on Tuesday in Rabat, a partnership draft agreement in the field of IT security, on the sidelines of the first Libyan International Forum on Economy and Investment in Morocco.

This partnership draft agreement concerns the establishment in Libya of the first Security Operation Center (SOC) to monitor and contain hackers' attacks in real time, said executive director of the first Libyan International Forum on Economy and Investment in Morocco Al-Mahdi Abdelaati.
This initiative, which is part of the development of international partnerships, particularly with Morocco, also aims to build Libyan capacities in the field of IT security, Abdelaati added.
"The protection of information systems has become a national issue," he said, noting that, through this center, Libya intends to strengthen the protection of administrations and other institutions (banks, oil companies, and companies of telecommunications, water, electricity, airlines ...) against IT attacks.
The Libyan International Forum on Economy and Investment in Morocco, initiated under the auspices of the Libyan Presidential Council in collaboration with the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Green and Digital Economy, includes several working sessions on the main challenges facing the Libyan economy as well as ways to benefit from Morocco's successful experience in economic development and investment.
Various topics will be discussed on this occasion, including the future of the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors in Libya and the promising investment opportunities offered in this area.
