MAP - SIEL: Mme Akharbach appelle à un traitement médiatique objectif de la question migratoire
Casablanca - 10 février 2019 -(MAP)-La Présidente de la Haute Autorité de la Communication Audiovisuelle (HACA), Latifa Akharbach a appelé, samedi à Casablanca, a un traitement médiatique objectif de la question migratoire loin des stéréotypes et des préjugés.
Les médias traitent, souvent, la question de migration comme étant une crise ou un mal qui porte atteinte au développement des pays, alors qu''il s'agit d'un phénomène global et tout a fait humain qui existait depuis la nuit des temps, a fait observer Mme Akharbach lors d'une rencontre débat sur "la migration et le traitement médiatique au Maroc" organisé par le Conseil national des droits de l'Homme (CNDH) dans le cadre de la 25-ème édition du Salon international de l'édition et du livre de Casablanca (SIEL).
La réalité migratoire n'a rien à voir avec l'image stéréotypée véhiculée par les médias qui présentent des informations sans référence fiable ou données vérifiées, a-t-elle déploré, notant que ce traitement constitue un danger sur la société et la cohésion sociale et conduit à la propagation de la haine et de la violence.
En effet, la migration ne concerne qu'à peu près 3,4% de la population mondiale, un chiffre qui demeure faible par rapport à ce qui est relayé par les médias, a fait savoir la présidence de la HACA, ajoutant que seuls 14% des migrants dans le monde sont africains, soit 36 millions, contrairement aux clichés véhiculés sur les migrations africaines.
Elle a, ainsi, regretté que ce traitement médiatique imprécis et non documenté a fait de l'Africain, la figure médiatique récurrente du migrant illégal, notant qu'en réalité 80 pc des migrants africains se trouvent en situation régulière.
Dans les médias le migrant est utilisé comme un objet et non pas un sujet d'où la nécessité de promouvoir une culture de traitement médiatique précis, équitable et éthique de la question migratoire et de former les journalistes, a-t-elle insisté, mettant en avant les efforts déployés par la HACA pour mettre fin à ces pratiques et améliorer le traitement médiatique relatif à ce sujet.
De son côté, le directeur de l'Institut supérieur de l'information et de la communication (ISIC), Abdelamajid Fadil a mis en relief l'importance d'un traitement juste et équitable de la question migratoire et de la formation journalistique pour lutter contre l'image négative véhiculée par les médias.
L'ISIC a pis conscience de l’ampleur de ce phénomène en lançant un nouveau Master intitulé "Médias et Migrations" qui vise à renforcer les capacités des journalistes et à enrichir leurs connaissances sur la thématique de la migration afin de bien traiter cette question, a-t-il ajouté.
Pour sa part, le directeur du site "Yabiladi.com", Mohamed Ezzouak a estimé que plusieurs journalistes ne maîtrisent pas la thématique migratoire et son vocabulaire et induisent en erreur l'opinion public. "Certains ne font même pas la différence entre un "émigré" et un "immigré" ou entre "migrant", "réfugié" et "demandeur d'asile".
Loin du buzz et des cliques, le journaliste doit prendre conscience de l'importance de cette question et de son rôle dans la sensibilisation, a-t-il dit, appelant à la nécessité de former les jeunes et les journalistes pour construire une nouvelle approche autour de la question migratoire.
Le Conseil national des droits de l'Homme participe, pour la huitième fois consécutive, au Salon international de l'édition et du livre de Casablanca (SIEL), avec un stand dédié à la question de la migration.
Placée sous le thème "Mobilité : Droits sans frontières", la participation du CNDH a pour objectif de promouvoir et de plaider en faveur de la mise en œuvre effective des droits des migrants.
