ATA - Governor Sejko invites investors to Albania during Vienna Euromoney Forum



   


By Pandi Skaka - TIRANA, January 17/ATA/-Albanian economy has a perspective of economic growth and it offers a suitable destination to foreign business and investments, said Governor of Albania’s Central Bank Gent Sejko on Wednesday at the Euromoney Central and Eastern European Forum in Vienna.

Now in its 23rd year of the Forum that annually welcomes prominent issuers, investors, financial intermediaries and policy makers to discuss, debate and analyse the key issues facing the CEE markets.

Governor Sejko spoke about the recent economic and financial developments in Albania and acquainted the participants with the main challenges that the Albanian economy faces.

Sejko emphasized that Albanian economy is getting stronger and it has a positive perspective. And Albanian financial sector is healthy and its main indicators are improving.

The governor highlighted Albania’s competitive advantages like the natural resources, the favourable geographic position and the growing stability that the EU membership process offers. Hence, he called on the participants to pay more attention to Albania as a suitable destination for business and investments.

Further on, Governor Sejko spoke about the financial innovation and especially the expansion of cryptocurrency. He reiterated the stance of Albania’s Central Bank that these instruments do not replace the traditional money, but are investment alternatives not adjusted and not guaranteed, the use of which requires maximum care by all the economic agents.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Governor Sejko held meetings with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, top officials of the central banks and representatives of different commercial banks. e.xh/ /a.g/p.s./
