Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Renewable energy company wins Canadian auction
Lisbon, Dec. 14 (Lusa) – Portuguese renewable energy company EDP Renováveis (EDPR) told the Portuguese Stock Exchange Commission (CMVM) on Thursday it had won a long-term auction to provide 284.4 megawatts (MW) in the Canadian province of Alberta.
Its subsidiary, EDP Renewables Canada Ltd, said the onshore Sharp Hills Wind Farm, which should start producing electricity in two years’ time.
The electricity will be sold to the market and if the market price is lower than the reference price in the auction, Alberta Electricity System Operator will make up the difference.
